Historical Data Profile
Background

Historical user profile data is required where energy charges are time of day based i.e. customers with profile metering. This information enables Independent Suppliers to price supply contracts for customers.

Customers without profile metering do not need historical user profile data as energy charges are based on a standard load profile and an estimate of annual consumption.

Policy

MRSO policy is to issue data, on request, to customers once a year free of charge. This enables Customers to obtain price quotations from different Independent Suppliers. However, where Customers explicitly authorise the issue of data to Suppliers or Energy Consultants, MRSO will issue data to a third party in accordance with MRSO confidential policy, but only if the request is accompanied by a letter of authorisation from the customer.

Process
  • Requests must come directly from the customer, or with the written authorisation from the customer to release to a third party.

  • Customers requesting historical user profile data from MRSO must do so in writing by emailing MRSO@esb.ie.

  • Half-hourly data for each day will be provided for up to twelve months if available. If quarter-hourly data is required, please specify this in your request.

  • Data file will be provided via e-mail. The file will be in excel format but will be encrypted for data security. You will need AxCrypt to access the file and this can be downloaded for free from their website www.axantum.com/axcrypt. Once the software is downloaded you will need to contact MRSO for the password to decrypt your file.

  • Where Customers require the data to be sent to a third party, MRSO must receive prior authorisation in writing (e mail acceptable) before release of data. In such cases the data will also be sent to the customer.

  • Customers will be entitled to request user profile data without incurring a charge. MRSO do not offer this data on an ongoing basis.

  • MRSO will respond to requests for user profile data within 10 working days of receipt of request.

  • MRSO will maintain records of all requests for data and records of all data issued to Customers or third parties.
